Cinnamon Rolls

2 T. dry yeast
(dissolve in warm water with 1 t. sugar)
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup hot milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs (beaten well)
1/2 cup margarine (melted)
4-5 cups flour

* * Mix milk, sugar, salt, eggs, margarine, water.
* * Stir in flour until dough is easy to handle.
* * Place in bowl & let rise until double in size.
* * Shape into rolls & let rise 30 minutes.
* * 375 degrees for 20 minutes.

Chocolate Frosting

1/3 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup cocoa powder
4 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla

* * In a mixing bowl beat butter till fluffy. Beat cocoa powder into butter. Gradually add 2 cups of the powdered sugar, beating well. Slowly beat in the 1/4 cup milk and vanilla.
* * Slowly beat in remaining powdered sugar. Beat in additional milk, if needed, to reach spreading consistency.
* * We half this recipe, especially when topping our brownies.

Easy Brownies

1/2 C. butter or margarine
1 C. granulated sugar
1 t. vanilla
2 eggs
1/4 C. cocoa
3/4 C. flour
1/2 C. chopped nuts (optional)

* * Melt butter and let cool. Stir in granulated sugar and vanilla. Beat in eggs, beating well between each one. Stir cocoa and flour together, and blend into creamed mixture. Blend in nuts. Press into greased and floured 8-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Do not overbake! Cool pan on wire rack before cutting into squares.

* * We like to top them with chocolate frosting OR powdered sugar.
